    Our Process

    Our Process

Most construction problems start before anyone picks up a tool.

Rushed conversations. Unclear expectations. A contractor who never really understood what you wanted.

That's where things go wrong — and that's exactly the part we slow down.

When you hire Marti Construction, you're not just hiring a crew. You're getting someone who thinks through the project before committing to a plan, tells you the truth about what it's going to take, and stays in communication with you every step of the way.

Our process isn't complicated — but it is intentional. And that intention is what makes the difference between a project that goes smoothly and one that doesn't.

    How It Works

From first conversation to finished project.

    01

We listen first. Everything else comes after.

Before we talk solutions, we want to understand the problem. What are you trying to accomplish? What's been frustrating you? What matters most — and what are you flexible on?

Most contractors show up ready to tell you what they're going to do. We show up ready to ask questions. That difference matters more than most people realize.

This first conversation can happen by phone, email, or in person. There's no pressure and no commitment. It's just a chance to understand your project and make sure we're a good fit for each other.

    02

We look at what's actually there — not just what's on paper.

For most projects, we'll schedule a site visit to see the space in person. This is where we start to understand the real scope — the structural conditions, the existing materials, the things that don't show up in a description or a photo.

This is also where we start to think through options. What's the right way to approach this? What are the tradeoffs? Are there things you might not have considered that could make this project better — or more complicated?

We'll share what we're seeing and what we're thinking. Honest, straightforward, without oversimplifying.

    03

A clear scope before any work begins.

Once we understand the project, we put together an estimate or proposal based on the actual scope of work. For straightforward projects, this is simple and direct. For more complex work — projects that involve subcontractors, multiple options, or significant planning — there may be a paid design or estimating phase before construction begins.

We'll tell you what we expect the project to cost, and we'll tell you honestly if that number is likely to change as we get into it. We'd rather have that conversation upfront than surprise you later.

We're not usually the cheapest option. What you're paying for is planning, craftsmanship, clear communication, and a process that protects your home and your investment.

    04

    Managed carefully. Communicated clearly.

Once the plan is in place and the project is scheduled, we get to work. We coordinate the right people, manage the timeline, and keep you informed through every stage.

We use Buildertrend on larger projects to help with communication, project updates, photos, billing, and change orders — so you're never left wondering what's happening or what's coming next.

We also take the experience seriously while the work is underway. Job sites stay as clean and organized as possible. We set up dust containment where it's needed. We work around your life as much as we reasonably can — because if you're still living in your home during the project, that matters.

    05

Solid, functional, and beautiful — with nothing left undone.

We don't consider a project done until the details are right. That means going back through the work, addressing anything that needs attention, and making sure the finished product is something you're genuinely proud of.

When we're done, you should feel confident — not just relieved. You should feel like the project was handled well, your home was respected, and the work is going to hold up.

That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every project.

Not Every Project Needs a Full Crew

Sometimes you just need the right conversation.

If you're a homeowner trying to think through a complicated project, a carpenter working through a difficult detail, a builder who needs guidance on the technical side of a build, or an architect who wants field experience behind a complicated assembly — consulting looks a little different.

It usually starts the same way: a conversation about what you're trying to accomplish and where you're stuck. From there, we figure out what kind of help actually makes sense.
